Show the work without overselling the protection.
A cybersecurity firm may sell incident response, testing, managed detection or governance advisory. Buyers need to see what is actually offered, which environments are supported and how a procurement or scoping discussion starts. Generic fear-based copy obscures expertise; precise explanations demonstrate it.
A business researching a penetration test needs different information from one considering a managed monitoring contract. We can organise the site by use case, technical service area, supported platforms and buyer role, with carefully bounded statements about methodologies, deliverables and service hours. Real certifications, clear scope and a thoughtful service process matter more than animated shields. We avoid saying a product makes a business ‘fully secure’ or that a supplier has an accreditation without verification.
Separate a technical scoping conversation from fear-led marketing
A buyer asking about penetration testing needs information on systems covered, rules of engagement, reporting and remediation. A buyer considering managed detection needs service hours, monitoring scope, incident handling and escalation. Mixing these services into “24/7 cyber protection” can mislead buyers if the company only delivers one of them.
The site should therefore ask What do you need to assess?, What do you need monitored?, or What governance problem are you solving?—and present the verified services beneath those choices. That is a navigation tool, not a vulnerability scanner.
Evidence should survive a procurement questionnaire
A specialist consultancy may have real credentials, sector experience or tested delivery processes. State precisely what each certification covers, which entity holds it and its relevant validity. SOC 2 reports and ISO 27001 claims have scopes; a badge alone is not enough. Avoid claiming incident response capacity, geographic cover or particular SLAs without the supporting contract terms.
Illustrative service-card copy: “Understand the scope, expected evidence and handover before commissioning an assessment.” Follow it with a genuine methodology summary, not a fake vulnerability count.
Qualified enquiries matter more than panic clicks
A meaningful enquiry could identify environment type, desired service, time constraints and whether internal permission is in place. It should not encourage someone to enter passwords or sensitive system diagrams into a marketing form. The standard website can introduce the secure procurement route; a customer security dashboard or actual scanning engine is a separate product with a different threat model.
Security assurance with real scope
Verified certification names, scope and dates; permissioned public client examples; actual service coverage and response arrangements; approved assessment methodology; genuine technical authorship. Never claim universal security, guaranteed breach prevention or fabricated SOC2/ISO credentials.
A service-led cybersecurity sitemap
- Home — security value proposition
- Consulting and assessments
- Monitoring or managed services
- Industries and environments
- Methods and verifiable credentials
- Start a scoping conversation
Demo concept: The security-scope explorer
select risk assessment, pen testing or managed services and receive a different list of useful scoping questions. It does not test security or claim to scan a system.
Who this is for: Established consultancies and MSSPs serving mid-market or enterprise buyers, not one-person firms needing a low-cost brochure.
What the £5,000 scope does not cover: The £5,000 package is a marketing site. Threat dashboards, customer portals, live vulnerability scanning and protected incident response intake require security engineering and separate scope.
Questions about technical boundaries
Can we display ISO certifications and Cyber Essentials badges?
Only if the business holds the relevant current status and the use of badges is authorised. A certification should be presented with accurate scope and dates.
Can you build a security checker on the website?
An illustrative scoping worksheet may fit the site. Real scanning of third-party systems requires permissions, safeguards and a different development project.
Let technical buyers see the difference between services.
Send the current website, the materials you already have and a brief description of the decision you want visitors to make. For qualifying standard marketing sites, the proposed package starts at £5,000 and can be scoped by email with no mandatory meeting. Email FiveK Studio.
